Everyone attempts to have better eating habits. Sometimes it’s hard and sometimes we just don’t know whereabout to change our eating habits. For some of us at the Healthy Crunch Company, we start out with changing what we snack on by finding out healthier alternatives. Here is a list of some healthier alternatives that we at the Healthy Crunch have changed in our diets.
Chocolate – Dark Chocolate
One way to start it off is to eat dark chocolate instead of chocolate. Dark chocolate contains fibre, iron, magnesium, copper, potassium, phosphorus, zinc and selenium.
Burgers – Portobello Mushroom Burgers
Hamburgers are red meat and it isn’t that great for us. They are loaded with fat, empty carbs, and only a bit of empty protein. Adding portobello to your diet can help fight cancer and cardiovascular disease. It can also reduce inflammation and boost your immune system. They also promote supple skin, a healthy digestive system and facilitate the production of red blood cells.
Candies – Dried fruits
High-sugared sweets have little to none nutrients in them. A great alternative is to eat dried fruits, such as mangoes, apples, or cherries.
Pasta – Zoodles
Zoodles, known as Zucchini noodles, are a fresh and healthy alternative to highly processed wheat pasta or gluten free pasta. They are the perfect gluten-free zucchini pasta and it’s a great way to increase our vegetable intake.
Fried/Baked Chips - The Healthy Crunch Kale Chips
Our favourite alternative! Chips are either baked or fried which takes out nutrients. With our Healthy Crunch Kale Chips, they use healthy ingredients that we need in our bodies.
